Tyler County Speedway and Happy Labor Day!

Print PDF

We have changed plans and are heading to Tyler County Speedway for the "Black Diamaond 125" dirt track races this weekend.  We just put the sprint races from the "Governor's Cup" at West Virginia Motor Speedway in July on our You Tube site.  Still working on fixing the slow problem on our site by switching servers.

Gravelrama was a blast again this year.  Some pretty awesome video as the dragsters put on a wheelie display all day Saturday at the flat drags.  Sunday's hill climb kicked butt as usual, and the uphill drag races on Friday ran the smoothest since we have been covering the event.  They put in a new course for the rock crawlers, which we were very glad to see.  We shot the entire time of the rock crawling comp this year.

Sorry for the slow down in post production.  Keith's crohn's disease really has him down and in bed for most of the week at this point.  Happy Labor Day everyone!  This holiday is for the hard working blue collar people.  So if you have the weekend off be sure and have a great time and enjoy.  For those in this area into bogging or racing there is no shortage of options.  The Hillbilly Racing guys in Rada, WV are having a bog and their first hill n hole.  The "Hillbilly 100" dirt track races are going on at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV.  Powerline Park in St. Clairsville, Ohio, Gasline Park in Old Washington, Ohio, and Swamp Stock in Coolville, Ohio are all having mud bogs this weekend.  Hillbilly Proud will be at Tyler County Speedway and we hope to see you there.  Be safe everyone and remember not to drink and drive.

Gravelrama and More

This weekend we will be at Gravelrama in Cleves, Ohio outside of Cincinnati.  We recommend this event to anyone who loves off roading.  There will be a 300 ft. sand drag bracket race Thursday, junior races and uphill drag racing Friday, heads up 300 ft. sand drag race and rock crawl competition Saturday, the famous pea gravel hill climb on Sunday, and the obstacle course to round out the event on Monday.

Labor Day weekend we will be covering the Hillbilly 100 dirt track races in Mineral Wells, WV.

New videos and event DVDs are still coming but have been delayed due to illness.  We'll update everyone with more information soon.  Thank you for your patience.

Painted Rock, Beckley Motorsports Park, and More

We just finished up the weekend of shooting at Jackson County Fair in Ripley, WV.  The fair went great.  They told me the mud bog had been a little too easy for years so they dug the pit a little deeper this year.  OK maybe it was a lot deeper.  The smaller classes didn't stand a chance and a surprising number of bigger trucks didn't make the whole 150 ft. either.  The race didn't end until five in the morning due to the deep pit and runs numbering in the hundreds.  Saturday we covered the 4x4 and semi truck pull.  This was the first pull we had been to in three years, and it was definitely time to get another one under our belts.  The pull went great too.  It was interrupted by a heavy rain once, but when it passed the track crew got things back up and running quickly and the crowd never went away.  We want to thank everyone in Jackson County for such a good time and a great homecoming for me and my wife who both grew up in Ravenswood.

This week we are headed to Ohio to do some trail riding and rock crawling with Painted Rock Adventure Ohio.  Then next Friday we will be in Beckley, WV at Beckley Motorsports Park for the dirt track races.  Next Saturday we will be at Wirt County Fair for the mud bog and then Circleville, Ohio for the Central Ohio Mud Bog Shootout (link isn't to their page but the flyer on the page is to the mud bog) on Sunday.  The following week we will be headed to Bonne Terre, Missouri for the finale of the Pro Truck Nationals 300 ft. sand drag racing series on August 13th and 14th.  We did the whole series last year and can't wait for the action at this year's finale. These guys really get the sand kicking.

Large Hillbilly Proud Flex Fit hats are back in stock!  Sorry it took so long guys.  We have also put Grandad's Truck shirts on sale.

We will be at Jackson County Junior Fair in Ripley, WV this Friday to cover their mud bog.

Mud bog videos from "Hillbilly Racing" in Rada, WV have been posted to our YouTube channel.  We are hoping to have new videos up on the website soon.  Currently we are in the process of switching servers to speed the site up.  Event DVDs are being sent out today from Rada and Marlinton.  Tried last week but just too busy.

West Virginia Motor Speedway videos are the next to come with Tyler County Speedway videos soon behind that.  We aren't sure on the time frame since we have events all weekend and next week we will be crawling in Ohio.  We will post info on more events we are covering in August soon.

New Events and Videos!

Hillbilly Proud is now scheduled to do the mud bog at Lewis County Fair Friday night at 7:00 pm in Weston, WV, the Paw Paw Fair mud bog at 7:00 pm Saturday north of Fairmont, WV, and the Jackson County Fair next weekend in Ripley, WV.

The motorcycles have started rumbling into our hometown of Morgantown, WV and we have set a merchandise stand up at Archies on route 7 in Sabraton between I-68 and downtown Morgantown.  Just look for all the bikes.

Next month is pretty loaded with events and we are still adding more.  Some of the best include rock crawling with Painted Rock Adventure Ohio the first week of August, covering the Pro Truck Nationals Finale at Big River Sand Drags in Bonne Terre, MO on the 14th, and Gravelrama the last weekend of August.

The dirt drag racing, ATV dirt drag racing, and ATV mud bog videos from "Hillbilly Racing" in Rada, WV have been posted on our You Tube channel.  New videos will be coming back to our site as soon as we get it fixed and sped back up.  The mud bog videos from Rada will be up next week and the pre order Event DVDs will be sent out then.  Next videos to be released will be from West Virginia Motor Speedway and Tyler County Speedway.  These will be our first dirt track videos ever so you all will have to tell us what you think.
